Those interested in serving on the Newark City Schools Board of Education should submit a notice of their interest, in writing, to district treasurer Julio Valladares and Board President Cindy Neely before the end of the business day on January 17. Please submit via email to jvalladares@newarkcityschools.org and cneely@newarkcityschools.org with the subject line: NCS Board Vacancy.

NHS drama will perform the play at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, and 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Lawrence E. Griffin Performing Arts Center at Newark High School. Tickets are $5 for children and seniors, $8 for adults, and free admission for children under 3. Purchase tickets by clicking here.

Newark City Schools celebrates 30 students every month who are recognized for doing the right thing. The students and their families are honored during a luncheon that is sponsored by a local business and features entertainment from a group within the district.
